PROJECT DESCRIPTION

STATEWIDE REACH IN OUR LARGEST STATE

Australia’s largest state, WA has a total land area of 2,529,875 square kilometres, with 92% of the population living in the southwest corner of the state. In 2014, the Department of Human Services contracted PSG Holdings to deliver cleaning services to its 52 premises across the state, including in a number of regional and remote areas.

Due to the size of the state and the dispersion of the sites, planning the delivery of cleaning services to the facilities required consideration of difficult logistical and geographical issues in order to ensure client requirements were met. PSG Holdings established a widely dispersed network of staff and sub-contractors to deliver the services, ensuring that all concerned were imbued with the spirit and dedication of PSG Holdings.

This process included implementation of online and on-site training to new and existing staff, establishment of secure communication lines to remote communities through the supply of modern technologies, and contributing new equipment and products. All these aspects of the roll-out ensured PSGH provided services of appropriate quality, while helping to provide economic opportunities for people – especially Indigenous people – in rural and remote WA.
