PROJECT DESCRIPTION

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED GOVERNMENT REFURBISHMENT

PSG Holdings were engaged as Construction Managers to undertake the refurbishment of the ATO Newcastle branch. In order to ensure minimal disturbance to the 600 ATO employees occupying the office space, work was conducted out of hours. The works were completed over two stages within a limited time frame. Stage One incorporated levels one, three and four, and was completed over a three-month period at the end of 2015. Stage Two saw the refurbishment of level two and the ground level, which was completed within six weeks in early 2016.

The tight schedule necessitated precise management of trades, whilst maintaining high quality construction and detailed finishes, in accordance with strict ATO standards. The programme required to complete three floors within 14 weeks whilst maintaining safe, operational working conditions and full security for 600 staff in the building.

Critical to the successful delivery of this project was strong communication and planning combined with committed, locally based subcontractors. The project was awarded a winning high recommendation in the IBA Professional Excellence Awards.
